Runescape Music
When Runescape Classic
was running there was no
music for the F2P, but some music for the members.
This has been improved on in Runescape 2, the current
version as each time you enter a location you will hear a
different piece of music which is especially for that place.
If you haven’t heard that particular sound before then
congratulations, you have just unlocked it in your Runescape
music players.
When you unlock any song it is added automatically to
your Runescape music player
for you to play as many times as you want at a later date,
no matter where you are
in the world of Runescape. Of course, members do get extra
songs than free players because they can travel to more
cities or dungeons and unlock that place’s tune.
You can see a screenshot of the music player to the right.
If a tune has been unlocked then its text colour will be
green, if not then it stays red.
Runescape Music Player Settings
When the ‘AUTO’ button is selected this means that the
tune will play automatically. When the ‘AUTO’ button is
selected a type of music, depending on where you are will
play only once. If you move into a different area then the
tune that you were listening to changes and again will only
play once.
When the ‘MAN’ button is selected it means that you must
manually select a tune to play yourself, no song will play
automatically. When the ‘MAN’ button is selected you can
choose whichever song you want to play by clicking on the
name. Songs will not change when you move into a new area.
Runescape Sound Effects
Jagex have also added
sound effects. Depending on where you are you will
hear different sounds. For example, when you are walking
through a bit of country you may hear the birds singing or
when you are mining you may hear your pick axe hitting the
rock. The difference
between the area player tunes and the sound effects are that
area tunes play when you move into a certain area and the
sound effects play when you are carrying out an action or
passing animals, etc.
There is also another set of controls that you can use to
change the volume or turn certain effects off. You can see
to the left:
The more you move a slider to the right, the louder the
effect is. If you move a slider completely to the left then
you can mute the sounds completely. As you can see in the
options above, all of the sound effects have been muted. The
first music slider (second row) allows you to change the
volume of the song from the music player. The second music
slider (third row) allows you to change the sound effects
volume and the third music slider (fourth row) allows you to
adjust the volume for areas.
Runescape Mp3 Downloads
Over at Sals Realm of
Runescape there is a brief section about Runescape
Music – you can find it via Google – that gives you some
instructions on how you can go about saving the Runescape
mp3 files to your computer so you can listen to them while
you’re not playing Runescape or to embed them into your
Runescape fansite. Enjoy.
